Not my favorite

As far as the sun protection aspect of this it seems to work. I'm not impressed by the quality of the cream or the container. I was very excited to see that an SPF serum was back on the site as I really liked the previous product. This serum is liquidy and makes my face shiny when applied. The former was thick and had a slight tint to it which coated my face nicely. I also liked that the previous product came in a tube which was easy to transport and allowed the product to drop toward the lid. The pump top can twist open during travel and pressure can allow product to be released. Overall, the SPF 45 serum works, but the packaging and quality is not nearly as good as others.

Rash-inducing

First time using The Ordinary after I was looking to add a good spf to my skincare routine This product caused an itchy rash to develop on my neck and face, much like other reviewers here. Extremely disappointed, I’ve never had this happen before with any skincare and do not have sensitive skin. I’m so annoyed with myself for not looking at reviews first or I would never have bought this. Such a waste of money!

Great product!

I really do love this product, it goes on smooth and leaves no white residue. I use it everyday after my moisturizer, under my makeup. And NO I did not receive this product free to review, I purchased it.

Good sunscreen worth a try

I bought this two months ago I am very pleased with the product. It has several filters proven to protect from UV rays, it’s non comedogenic and it’s a chemical/organic sunscreen (so elegant and doesn’t leave any white cast on my brown skin). I recommend it. My only criticism is feels a bit heavy on my skin. If the texture could be lightened that would be great. Be Cautious

I have been a loyal user of The Ordinary’s serums and creams, and I have been really satisfied with them. However, my recent experience with The Ordinary UV Filters SPF 45 was deeply concerning. After a single use, my skin became intensely red, itchy, and inflamed. The reaction did not subside for over a week. Not only did it fail to protect my skin from the sun, but it caused the most severe irritation I have ever experienced — even though I applied only some drops. In addition, I checked the product’s ingredients with an independent safety scanner. The results were alarming: this specific sunscreen received a 0/100 “Toxic” score, showing a high percentage of ingredients with moderate to high risk, including several flagged as toxic. This is in sharp contrast to other The Ordinary products I have used, which scored high or quite good for safety. Given this experience and the safety concerns, I hope you will review the formulation of this sunscreen and consider clearer warnings for consumers. I strongly believe it should be approached with extreme caution to prevent others from suffering a similar reaction.

I do not understand the bad reviews, its a good product. @The Ordinary, I noticed you only reply to negative reviews. Please also take into consideration happy customers who take the time to leave positive reviews.

Skin reaction to SPF!

Bought SerumUV Filters SPF 45 Serum to use alongside my other The Ordinary products which I love and have used for years but unfortunately had a reaction like others seem to where my skin went very red and then bumpy / super dry in the following week, tried a few times but it was this product that was the culprit. Very unfortunate as I was so happy you were making an SPF again.

Applies well, and no pilling!

I received a full-sized free sample of this and have been using regularly for the last several weeks. Overall, I really like the product, and would buy for future use. It's a nice light fluid that spreads well on the skin and leaves a nice sheen. Best of all - following the instructions to let it sink into the skin for 15 minutes or so - there's no pilling when appying make-up on top, which has been the absolute bane of my life with sunscreens from a variety of price points. Easy to get good coverage, no pilling, nice glow - all good!

Good, tad overpriced

I vastly prefer chemical sunscreen to mineral (higher SPF, not drying, no white cast) and so I was excited about this formulation. After trying it for a while I’d say it’s fairly good. There’s no overwhelming sunscreen smell (but there is a slight one), no white cast (but I have white skin so YMMV), and no irritation or breakouts on my sensitive skin. It is a tad on the greasy side though, especially after a re-application. The twist lock lid is amazinggg, so simple but effective and I wish more companies would implement packaging like that. Just give it a twist and it’s good to be tossed in my backpack without worry. The only downside is that it’s not quite worth the price for just 60 mL. 60 is at least better than some companies selling 50 or even 30 mL bottles of sunscreen. But there are plenty of options on the American market that offer better value. Side note for people claiming this product contains “toxic ingredients” or whatever—check out Lab Muffin Beauty Science’s extensive coverage on sunscreen safety. Sunscreen is one of the safest products you can buy, including chemical and mineral.

Horrible burning skin reaction

It caused a horrible reaction on my face - red bumps and swelling which has now turned to my skin peeling off. I was fine the first dew days I used it but after 4 days of using this product my skin was burning.
