I’ve been a loyal Kiehl’s customer for years, and I’m genuinely disappointed in the recent changes to the Ultra Facial Overnight Rehydrating Mask with 10.5% Squalane. I used to rely on this mask to deliver deep hydration overnight. I would wake up with my skin feeling soft, nourished and plump. Unfortunately, the reformulated version just doesn’t perform the same way. It’s not just this product either. I’ve noticed Kiehl’s has changed multiple formulas across their range, and each “new” version seems to be a gigantic step down from the original. It’s almost as if they think long-time customers won’t notice the difference. But we do. The texture feels different, the results aren’t as noticeable, and that intense hydration I loved is gone. My skin doesn’t feel as replenished in the morning and, for the price, it’s not worth it anymore. I hope Kiehl’s reconsiders these changes. Many of us became loyal customers because the products worked, and the old formulas were part of our trusted routines. Sadly, I’ll be looking elsewhere until they bring back the quality we know they’re capable of.

A must have in my routine

I love using this cream in the fall winter when my skin needs extra hydration. It’s also great in between retinol / exfoliation treatments.

Desperately need the old formula

The old formula was a perfect product. It worked well to repair skin barrier and moisturize. It was my go to and I had stocked up. I recently found some old product that had expired, and out of desperation I applied it on my face even though it smelled rancid. To my surprise, I woke up to brighter, glowing and dewy skin. I wish they took customer feedback seriously and bring back the old product. I’m willing to pay more for the old formula.

Only product that saved my dry skin

This is hands down the best overnight mask I’ve ever used. I was nervous at first because I assumed it would feel heavy or greasy to sleep in but it doesn’t at all. It applies like a rich moisturizer, sinks in beautifully, and doesn’t feel uncomfortable or sticky. The real magic, though, is how it transformed my skin. I have a damaged skin barrier, rosacea, and some dermatitis. I had tried multiple dermatologist-prescribed products that only made things worse. On a whim, I gave this mask a shot and the results were incredible. The tightness, burning, flakiness, and redness were drastically reduced overnight. I’ve been using it almost nightly since, and it’s been the single most effective product in helping my skin heal. A few weeks in, and most of the redness is gone. I’m still working on fully repairing my skin barrier, but this was the product that was the most effective. If you’re struggling with sensitive, dry, or reactive skin, this is worth trying.

Poor Product Since Formula Change

This used to be a much better product before they changed the formula. My sister, my daughter, and myself do not like the new formula. Please go back to original.

Love it, goes on smooth and soaks into skin without feeling oily, not heavy. Great product been using it for couple years. Always get compliments and people don’t believe I’m 50.

Great Moisturizer

Great advice from a Kiehls rep in the Hartford, CT store to use this ‘mask’ as a moisturizer. My skin is painfully dry, so I use this daily (just a small amount).
