It didn't work for me

The Ordinary seems to be hit and miss for me. I used it 5x a week. No burning or flakey skin. I didn't like it because there was absolutely no difference in my skin.

I added this into my nighttime routine a few evenings a week, applying it after cleansing and before my moisturizer. The texture feels lightweight and smooth, and it absorbs easily without feeling heavy or sticky on my skin. With consistent use, my skin feels smoother and more even in texture, and I’ve noticed a brighter, more refreshed look overall. The appearance of fine lines looks softer, especially around my forehead and eye area. This has been easy to fit into my routine and feels like a simple way to support long-term skin improvement.

Retinol affordable

As a busy mom, I don’t have time for complicated skincare, so I love products that are simple, affordable, and actually work and this one surprised me. The texture is lightweight and slightly oily, but it absorbs quickly into the skin. I use it only at night, and a few drops gifted by ordinary.

Great step up from my retinol

gifted by theordinary I’ve been using this Retinal 0.2% Emulsion in my nighttime routine and I’ve been really happy with it. I use it at night after my water based skincare serums and I follow with any heavier/oil based serums, then moisturizer and a barrier support oil. I’ve noticed my skin looks smoother and more even, my breakouts have improved, and it’s helped with acne overall. My skin looks clearer and brighter, and I’ve also seen some improvement in the fine lines on my forehead in that have been bothering me. If you’re already comfortable with retinoids and want something a bit stronger and more effective but easy to fit into a real routine, this is a solid option. Just make sure you’re using a SPF during the day.

I have never heard to retinal before, but after doing some research it seemed like a great product to add to my routine. I only use it a couple times a week and have definitely noticed a difference in my skin. Gifted by the ordinary

Another product from theOrdinary that I was excited to try was the retinal 0.2% emulsion - because at 45, the biggest thing I’m trying to do is have healthy looking skin before anything. Ok so that being said if it is younger and more radiant so much the better. 😉 I’ve used it about four times because the strength of the product, you don’t want to overuse it and damage your skin so I have applied it in the evening to my face once I’ve washed and dabbed it dry (only every few days). The key use of this product is to Firm the texture and reduce the appearance of dark spots both of which I hope to accomplish with repeated use. This product does not sting, and I have been using it as recommended with a moisturizer and I do feel like it is improving the look of my fine lines, especially the small ones around my eyes. Who doesn’t want luminous glowing, younger, looking skin I know I do, and therefore I will continue to use this product. #gifted by theOrdinary

The texture is lightweight but slightly creamy, and it absorbs really nicely into my skin without feeling heavy or sticky. This is definitely a strong retinal, so I started slow (2–3 nights a week), and that helped a lot. After a few weeks, I noticed my skin looking smoother, more even, and overall just healthier. My skin texture improved, and I started seeing that subtle glow that retinoids usually give when they’re working. I did experience a little dryness at first, but nothing crazy layering it with a good moisturizer solved that quickly.

I started using The Ordinary Retinol 0.2% Emulsion as my first retinol, and overall I’m happy with it. The texture is very lightweight and easy to apply.
