Bad reaction!!!

Awful allergic reaction! I have been using this product for many years but suddenly I had a very strong and painful allergic reaction from a brand new bottle!! I think they have changed the formula or something.. would not recommend to anyone as it made my skin really bad and sensitive.. The only thing that helped me was steroid cream from the doctor.

Unfortunatelly bad skin reactions

Unfortunatelly I have had an allergic reaction to this product even after years and years if using it.. I am mot sure if the formula has changed but after buying a new one this year I started having flare ups from it and the only thing that would help me would be a steroid cream from a doctor.. I want to love it as I loved it before but definitely not for me anymore 😞

SEVERE REACTION

I have been using TheOrdinary products since 2020. As a result of how great my skin turned out l stopped using make- up since then. However, it is with a heavy heart that a product l once recommended is now the cause of lack of confidence and loss of earnings. After 4 months, A&E visits, countless visits to the GP, highest dose of antihistamine and antibiotics, trial of sevaral creams and referral to allergy clinics. It turns out l have been reacting to Salicylic Acid. My face went from being itchy, burning and peeling off. At first l didn't suspect my skins routine as l said l had used the products since 2020 with no issues. When started weaning off product by product and using one at a time. It became apparent that l was reacting to the Salicylic Acid. I still didn't believe it and decided to apply it to my armpits- well big mistake. I am now itching none stop and it burns. The option to upload pictures is no working! I have pictures, videos, prescription, emails of time taken off as my whole face was swollen.

I also had this horrendous reaction. Saw 2 different GPs and was prescribed hydrocortisone to heal the burned, dry skin around my eyes. Have completely lost faith in the brand having used it for the last 5 years

Great product for mixed & acne prone skin (32 yo)

I am shocked with the negative reviews. I got this serum two weeks ago from a European reseller and I couldn’t be happier! After some minor purging, my acne is almost healed, and my skin is clear and glowing!It hasn’t looked that good in years! I absolutely love this product! I am also very allergic person from cats and generally just nature to food and meds but this didn’t cause an allergic reaction to me. Which I am grateful for, but I wonder If there was a bad batch on a market with that overwhelming negative response.

Do not purchase - HORRIBLE!!!

New formula. Absolutely destroyed my skin especially the swelling around my eyes. I have no idea what is happening to this particular acid but I smell a lawsuit. I consulted a medical doctor who prescribed a mild steroid cream which helped as well as prescription meds to help with the itching. I have literally give up work opportunities because of this.

Atopic Dermatitis

Used this once and also experienced an atopic dermatitis reaction after sleeping with it on.

Loved for a while - But gave a bad rash in the end

I initially thought I had found my holy grail - I’ve recently suffered from hormonal acne, went on skinoren, while coming off of that and my skin started to relax again, this serum seemed to be the perfect solution, looked like my skin in my 20ies with hardly any blemishes or visible pores. BUT suddenly a few weeks ago, I woke up and my whole face was low key sore, around my eyes were flaky - I couldn’t place where it came from, I haven’t ea tree n anything different nor touched anything out of the ordinary. Then, three weeks ago, I got a red flaky patch on my eyelid, it went away a little, came back and now it’s starting under my eye also - I haven’t for the life of me been able to figure out what was causing it, not something I have had before. But for some reason I ended up in the review section here, and see that what SO many others have reported, is the EXACT same that’s happpening to me. And I will note, I have NOT put the product around my eyes, simply a little on my forhead, on my nose and chin. Will dis-continue use and switch to Paula’s choice. I Hope you reformulate this serum or give better instructions of how to avoid this quite extreme reaction, because I want to come back! But with this risk, it’s simply not worth it.

Ho comprato questo siero a marzo, ed ho aspettato un po per recensire. Direi che fa il suo lavoro, soprattutto se usato localizzato su imperfezioni/brufoli. Ovviamente, non ha effetto immediato: per eliminare le imperfezioni, bisogna usarlo almeno per 3/4 gg. Asciuga in un attimo (requisito, per me, ESSENZIALE) e lascia un bell'effetto sulla pelle. Non lo uso tutti i giorni, ma solo quando ho imperfezioni/brufoli molto evidenti. Per me, promosso!

Terrible

An awful product. I am disgusted that it is still being distributed. After using the product, my eyes became itchy, the next morning they were so swollen and red! After the swelling went down my eyes remained red for days, became itchy and flaking (like eczema). I am so mortified that so many other people have been experiencing the same thing!!! Do NOT buy this product

DO NOT BUY! CAUSES ALLERGIC REACTION!

This product needs to be removed from shelves immediately!!! Like many other reviews, it caused a major allergic reaction. It is unsafe, dangerous and has potential to cause serious damage. I had experienced this reaction a few times before I realised what was actually causing it. As soon as I saw the other reviews I knew it was this. I put the serum on (not near my eyes) before bed and woke up the next day with sore, swollen and very red eyes. The redness and swelling lasts circa 5 days, effects vision (due to the swelling), causes discomfort and not to mention embarrassment going out in public! I will never purchase a product from The Ordinary again after this. Why is it still being sold after so many people are having the same reaction?
