Not what I expected.

I bought this with absolutely no idea what it smelt like, I just read the notes and saw rose and bergamot which is a combo I love so decided to try. This is definitely not a fragrance I would recommend for anyone under the age of 50, it is incredibly powdery and has an older feel to it. I decided to give it to my Mum and she loves it - she is turning 60 this year. It lasts a very long time though, and it will soak into your clothes - the longevity is amazing.

Rive Gauche gives me fond memories from childhood when I first smelt it. We were visiting family with us kids snooping around the house and I was attracted to the blue/silver/black bottle & smell, so when I saw the same bottle at the fragrance counter as an adult, I thought I'd buy it for my wife. Unfortunately she doesn't like the fragrance at all, so now I, as a middle aged man, wear Rive Gauche and love it! I find the fragrance to be somewhat unisex, with a clean soap smell. It's very strong and lasts all day, so I only spray once or twice otherwise it can be overpowering to me. Highly recommend it to both Ladies & Gentlemen....
