Surge, yes, but stinky

Please note: I received this product as part of attending BeautyHeaven's Best in Beauty 2025 Awards. Clinique's products are always beautifully packaged, and this serum is no exception. Always clean branding, the bottle is securely boxed, and there's no mistaking what's in the bottle (it's right there on the label). The box clearly states the product is for skin types 1, 2, 3 and 4. Sadly, this serum did not come with an instruction leaflet. I had to jump online to seek additional information, such as ideal usage (this is not available on the bottle or box). Online, the Clinique website states the serum can be used morning or evening on clean skin, starting with three drops. Now, the consistency of this serum is thin and watery, so you would think three drops will do your face and neck. This is not the case (so dose yourself at your discretion). The website also clearly states to use sunscreen and limit your sun exposure while using and the week afterwards. First use: the serum smells. Bad. I am absolutely not a fan. I know Clinique is fragrance free, allergy tested, safe for sensitive skin, and it is all these things. However, I was very reluctant to persist using this product because it smells that bad. I did persist, and yes, you will get used to the smell (to a certain extent). From a performance perspective, this serum is purported to improve skin texture, hydration, radiance, fine lines, moisture retention and overall health. Since I commenced use, my skin texture and radiance were temporarily improved when used in conjunction with other skin treatments such as a home facial (exfoliation and masks), followed immediately by this serum. The effect only lasted a few days. I have been using this product consistently since the Awards, so there's still time to see improvement. Patience is a virtue with this product. I do recommend it (it is good), however I have other products that perform better without the nasal assault. I will likely rotate back to this in winter.

A hydration must

This Clinique Moisture Surge Active Glow Serum feels like a tall glass of water for your skin! It’s light, refreshing, and leaves my face instantly soft, plump, and radiant. I love how it gives that dewy, healthy glow without feeling heavy or sticky - just fresh, hydrated skin that looks naturally luminous. It layers beautifully under makeup or on its own for those no-fuss days. A little pump goes a long way, and my skin just drinks it up. Such a beautiful boost of hydration and glow! I always try and exfoliate at least twice a week to help all of my products work more efficiently!

Wake-up glow

I was honoured to be invited to the BeautyHeaven Best in Beauty Awards 2025, and this serum was one of the most exciting pieces in my parcel. From the first pump, I noticed just how lightweight the texture is a milky-soft consistency that absorbs quickly without any tack or heavy residue. According to the brand, it's formulated with 5% lactic acid, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C to exfoliate, hydrate and brighten all at once. After a week of consistent use (morning and/or night), my skin looked visibly smoother and the “just-woke-up fresh” glow had returned even after long days at work and uni. One thing I loved: it layers beautifully under my sunscreen and makeup without pilling or interfering with my base. Reviewers reported that the serum is “velvety” and works well even on sensitive skin. If I were to note a small caveat: because it has gentle exfoliating action (thanks to the lactic acid), on days when my skin is already a bit sensitive (due to travel, sun exposure or a late night) I tended to pair it with a richer moisturiser on top to ensure extra barrier support. But honestly, that’s minor compared to how much the glow improved. Final Impression: Yes I’d definitely consider repurchasing this. I’d recommend it especially for someone who wants more than just “hydration” someone after a smoother, brighter, healthier-looking complexion (which pretty much covers me). If you already have very sensitive/reactive skin or prefer zero-exfoliating action, you may want to patch test first but for most readers, this hits the sweet spot of skin-care meets glow magic.

Soft, Smooth, and Glowy Skin

I was fortunate to get on this trial for the Best in Beauty 2025 event. The Moisture Surge Active Glow Serum has a lightweight, silky texture that absorbs quickly into the skin without feeling sticky or heavy. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed, hydrated, and with a subtle, healthy glow. The scent is very gentle, making it easy to use morning or night. After a few uses, my skin felt smoother and more comfortable, particularly in drier areas. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a simple, effective serum that supports hydrated, radiant skin.

Healthy glow

The packaging is an attractive light pink and luxe glass bottle with a quality dropper. It doesn't come with any instructions, but I applied this very light serum after cleansing and allowed it to absorb into my skin before moisturising. It absorbs quickly into skin with no scent after blending it in. I found it to be lovely on the skin for both day and night. My skin looked hydrated and achieved a natural healthy glow. I had no issues with using it under makeup, making it functional for no-makeup days as well.

Super gentle serum

I recieved this serum in the best of the beauty awards this year. What a nice surprise with Clinic being there, they had a long history on beauty and skin care. I used this serum twice a day after toner and leave the skin gradually smooth. The product help to gentle exfoliated the dead skin cell, and gradually bringthing the skin. I would not recommend used this everyday if your are like me in retinol 0.5 or superior since retinol is already very drying. You can used the serum in the days you are not in deep exfolitation.

Glowing Skin

I received this at the Best in Beauty event. Like the packaging the pic bottle with a dropper. A little product goes a long way. The texture is lightweight and silky, almost like a gel-cream hybrid, so it sinks into my skin instantly without leaving any stickiness. From the first application, my skin felt instantly hydrated and smoother—like it had just had a big drink of water. What really stood out to me is the glow this serum gives. It’s not glittery or oily-looking, just that fresh, healthy radiance that makes your skin look naturally plump and awake. I’ve been using it under my makeup, and it works perfectly as a hydrating base—it helps foundation glide on easier and keeps my skin looking dewy throughout the day. Even on no-makeup days, my skin still has that soft, luminous sheen. After about a week of consistent use, I noticed my skin looking more even and bouncy, especially in areas that usually feel a bit dull. It’s gentle, fragrance-free, and doesn’t clog my pores. Overall, the Moisture Surge Active Glow Serum really delivers on its name—it gives that long-lasting moisture and a natural glow without any heaviness. Totally worth adding to your skincare lineup.

Great all rounder

I was lucky enough to receive a bottle of the new Clinique Moisture Surge™ Active Glow Serum to trial at the beauty heaven best in beauty showcase. I used to be a Clinique girl, and honestly? I just forgot about them until now. This product shows why they have been a leader in the skincare game for so long. The bottle is a super cute peach colour and the dropper dispenser works well. Clinique recommend using 3 drops on cleansed skin morning and night before moisturiser and after toner. They state that this serum exfoliates, brightens, plumps and hydrates with H.A.s and Vitamin c. I’m normally a 6 step skin care girl so I wasn’t sure quite where to fit it in and ended up using it in place of my Vitamin C serum. It's only been 2 weeks and yet I HAVE noticed a difference. My skin is plumper and smoother. The effects were nearly instantaneous, from the first application my skin felt more hydrated, and I would have to say it definitely looks brighter now too.

My Skin feels and looks alive

I’m impressed with the Clinique moisture surge active glow, and that’s exactly what it does, gives skin that boost when you need it. It especially great when your skin is feeling, dehydrated, dry and dull, a few drops of the serum after you have cleaned your skin morning and night will do the trick.A white liquid, with a mild smell, that is fragrant free, safe to use especially if you have sensitive skin and suffer from eczema. The serum comes with a dropper and few small drops is all you need, it spreads and is absorbed very quickly, apparently it’s part of the Clinique moisture surge group, but it still works well with what ever moisturiser you use, and under make up.It certainly makes your skin feel hydrated, bright and plump. Using lactic acid to exfoliate dull skin cells, hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump skin and vitamin C to brighten, it’s safe to use on sensitive and all types of skin, it’s been clinically tested. At around $69 it should go a long way and the Clinique brand has been around a long time and their skin care products have always been reliable, excellent products that produce excellent results, I’m certainly happy with the way my skin is looking after using the Clinique moisture surge active glow serum.

Still waiting for the glow

Thank you BH for the chance to try this at the Best in Beauty event. I’ve always liked Clinique but it is usually a bit out of my budget although I have used some of their products. While they say they do not test on animals except where legally required, they cannot be considered completely animal friendly. This serum is made in the UK and has a two year shelf life after opening. It comes in a signature Moisture Surge pink glass bottle with a dropper. It’s an opaque white light lotion with a light smell that doesn’t linger. I’ve been using it morning and night after cleansing and before moisturiser on my mature combination skin. It absorbs quickly without feeling sticky. They do mention that you should use sun protection while using this and for a week after (but of course we are all doing so anyway!) so this must contain something that can potentially cause sun sensitivity, probably the lactic acid. This feels nice on my skin and I hope it’s doing some good, however it is probably too early to tell, which reflects my score. I will keep using it and hope I see some benefits with time. I recommend trying it if it’s in your budget.

Beautiful Glowing Skin

The Clinique Moisture Surge active glow serum is described as a serum that helps to gently exfoliate skin to help promote skin cell renewal. The Moisture Surge range is my favourite from Clinique and have been a fan for years. When I saw Clinique's new product, I was curious and excited to try this active glow serum finally. I don't often enough use vitamin c in my skincare routine-due to skin sensitivity, but this one works nicely for a natural glow in the evening as skin can appear healthy looking. I use once every few days and pat to my skin. I use only a drop as it can be quite intense on my face unless you prefer a very glowy look. I haven't yet tried as a daytime serum, however for beauties that love a dewy and glowing skin, this would look amazing on before or after you apply your base. The serum doesn't irritate my skin, so I am more likely to include in my skincare routine in the evenings.

Can I give it 6 stars?

I had the opportunity to trial Clinique Moisture Surge Active Glow Serum at BH’s Best in Beauty marketplace. I am always in search of a great serum plus with the brand name so well known and respected, Clinique showcasing this serum I was excited. I’m in my mid 60’s and lately my skin feels dehydrated and dull seeking hydration that penetrates instead of being superficial. I used this serum for a week, morning and night and it’s amazing. I can not only feel but also see my skin plumper and less dull from the hydration. Foundation glides on in the morning. Serum has the perfect consistency, lightweight and milky and no fragrance. Having hyaluronic acid as a key ingredient which clearly my skin loves and I’m sold! Highly recommend
