I received this amazing update to my previously purchased OG Dyson Supersonic. I didn't think a better hairdryer could possibly be invented, yet Dyson have managed to outdo themselves! As someone with joint pain and neuropathy, the Supersonic R is a dream come true. It is unbelievably light and easy to handle. The attachments have had a technological upgrade too. I love how strong the magnetised hold is, and best of all, the smart technology that automatically sets the perfect settings for each attachment. I have curly hair, but the Dyson Supersonic R gives me the Best Curls Ever. From wet hair to the perfect curls in 5 minutes flat. No frizz, no crispy ends. A smooth sleek look is effortless too, with a combination of the gentle air attachment, smoothing nozzle and flyaway attachment. The pro concentrator helps with smoothing too. Literally lifechanging!

Obsessed doesn’t cover it!

I absolutely DIED over how amazing this hairdryer is! It’s so quiet and the air is so powerful it actually pushes back on you. The attachments are GREAT! I’m having a lot of fun playing with some of the new (to me) ones. My only point of criticism is that the cord is 1m shorter than the old professional dryer and there is no diffuser.

I’ve been using the first-generation Dyson Supersonic hairdryer since its release and have always thought it impressive, but the new Dyson Supersonic r has completely changed the game. In love with my new Supersonic R Dyson!

I am so happy with my new dyson! To start with, the ergonomics have been so well considered - it's small, light and the technology is so advanced, with each of the attachments capable of blowing the air in the direction you want your hair to be styled. I especially love the diffuser, while my 14 year old daughter with long hair is obsessed with the flyaway attachment - literally makes it smooth!

Light, easy to use and finishes hair quickly!

I received the Dyson Supersonic r to test as part of their trial program. It’s light weight and very easy to manoeuvre around the head. I can do my whole head using my dominant hand due to the shape… something that I found really awkward with other hairdryers. All of the attachments are great and are easy to use and switch. I love that the RFID chip in each one allows the machine to remember the last setting used. The most attachments are gentle on the scalp. The exception being the pro concentrator (on highest heat) which is designed to be used with a round brush. The heat and speed setting buttons adjust easily - not too stiff or flimsy. The cool shot placement on the opposite side makes using this feature intuitive and seamless. The airflow is powerful at the highest setting for a quick dry, with the lowest setting being extremely gentle and great for final touches or touch ups in following days. The hairdryer is also easy on the ears and relatively quiet. I’ve only been using it for a short while, so I’m looking forward to improving my technique over extended use! So happy with the overall results and ease of use.

Dyson supersonic blowdryer

I have been using dyson new supersonic blowdryer for 2 weeks now in my salon. It is a great one, dries hair fast, very light and quiet, but I can not say it is better than the previous model. I still need more time to get used to the new shape, the shape makes it uneasy for me to hold in hand

Powerful, quiet and light weight.

Thanks to Dyson I was gifted the Supersonic r as part of their trial program. For the past 8 years I have used the Dyson Supersonic Pro , as a professional hairdresser using tools that are high quality is essential to my job. WOW what a machine Dyson has created in the Supersonic r I am MORE than impressed. The machine is so light weight my initial response was this won’t have the power I need….how wrong I was. Not only is the dryer light weigh it is powerful and quiet. The shape with the bend allows you to easily manoeuvre the hairdryer and brush to get the right angle to blow wave with ease with reduced strain on your arms and wrist. The shine that is left on the hair is amazing and the reduced static is a massive bonus. The attachments are easy to change and I love that the machine changes the setting automatically to give you the optimal speed and heat for that attachment and it even remembers what your desired settings are. If I had to use 3 words to describe this amazing machine they would be Powerful, quiet, light. My clients are all asking questions and are noticing the difference in their hair. The supersonic r is a must if you want a hairdryer that maintains the health of your hair while giving you amazing results.

featherlight magic in your hands

I cannot believe how much this has changed my work in teh salon. I had a shoulder operation caused in part by years of using heavy hairdryers. This is the lightest dryer you could imagine! It has changed my world! I can dry and style client after client all day long and not be in pain! The different attachments give me so much creativity too. The easy pull off/ push on magnet feature is a really awesome feature of this Dyson. I also don't understand how the attachments don't get hot, its amazing. The Dyson range has always been designed and created with the client in mind, making it easier for them to style their home at home. They do;t have a hairdressers expertise and skill so it is harder to get a salon like finish. This Dyson dryer makes that dream a reality, the featherlight weight stops arm fatigue. The way the body of the dryer is designed makes it so much easier to do your own hair. I only use this dryer now when doing my own hair as it doesn't irritate my shoulder. I am in LOVE!

Best so far!

As a professional who presents a lot, travels regularly, and moves between houses often, this is the best new product Dyson have released in the hair styling range so far - and I have most, believe me! It’s light, it’s intelligent, it’s easy to use and….it looks good! I saw it in Japan last year, and have been waiting for its arrival here in Oz. Now that it’s here, it comes with me everywhere. It’s so smart that it adjusts the settings to match the attachment you put on - who knew? Love it.

Supersonic r

I received (was gifted) this Supersonic r as part of the Dyson trial program. I have been using the original supersonic hairdryer daily for years and love it. The Supersonic r is smaller and lighter than my original Supersonic making holding it above my head easier. For its small size it is very powerful and dries my thick yet fine mid length hair quickly - around 10 minutes. I really liked the Smoothing nozzle the best out of the supplied attachments as my hair is prone to frizz and this did seem to help reduce it. Thanks to the r shape of the dryer I found it easier to aim the air flow where I wanted and easily dried the spot at the back of my head that I always seem to miss. The only downside is the large power plug which makes it slightly difficult to find a power outlet that has enough room around it to be able to plug it in. Dyson says it has electronics in the plug which allowed them to reduce the weight and bulk from the hairdryer. Hopefully in future they will find a way to make the plug smaller - which I’m sure they will. Also I didn’t receive a storage case with mine - if purchasing I would definitely get one as it would be very useful to store the attachments and Supersonic r when not using. Another suggestion is it would be great if it came with a silicone mat to place it on as the attachment and the area around it can get quite hot and you need to be careful where you put it when finished to cool.

dyson Supersonic r the best

I received the Dyson supersonic r almost a week. I have used it 4 times. I have also the dyson supersonic and i can compare and see the difference between them(i did 3 minutes to complete dry my hair). The supersonic r is more powerful,lighter and quicker. I like the RFID attachments and when i started to use the dyson supersonic my hair isnt damage anymore. The noise is acceptable compare to other hair dryers. I like also the long thick cable that it has. Definitely i suggest to buy the new dyson supersonic r if you want a good, light,powerful hair dryer.

Truly made for ease of use

A major upgrade from my first supersonic. Super light and ergomonic. I finally can finish a full blowout style with this because of how light and powerful it is!!
